Tennessee Drug Schedule

In Tennessee it is illegal to possess certain controlled substances and narcotic prescription drugs.  The statutes concerning these types of drugs place them into unique categories or "schedules".  A listing of some of the most recognizable scheduled drugs under Tennessee law is as follows:

Schedule I

  • Some varieties of mushrooms
  • Heroin
  • LSD

Schedule II

  • Oxycodone
  • Hydromorphone
  • Methamphetamine
  • Cocaine
  • Adderall
  • Hydrocodone

Schedule III

  • Testosterone
  • Ketamine
  • Anabolic Steroids
  • Some depressants

Schedule IV

  • Xanax
  • Klonopin
  • Valium

Schedule V

  • Over-the-counter drug containing codeine
  • Over-the-counter drug containing ephedrine

Schedule VI

  • Marijuana
